Biography Cont: Prior to RRA, Mark Fistos was a shareholder with Aronovitz Jaffe and partner with James, Hoyer, Newcomer & Smiljanich, P.A, where his work led to large recoveries in state and federal class action cases involving national computer manufacturers, banks, and data mining companies, among others. Mr. Fistos received his B.A. from Florida State University in 1985, and joint M.A. and J.D. degrees in Law and International Affairs from Florida State University. He has authored and presented several articles for The Florida Bar and frequently gives presentations on consumer law topics to trade and student groups. Biography: Mark Fistos has successfully litigated class action cases in various state and federal jurisdictions for more than 15 years. Fueled by a passion for consumer law that began in law school and grew through the years, Mr. Fistos has dedicated his career to protecting consumers against fraud and unfair trade practices. Mr. Fistos began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Florida Attorney General's Economic Crimes Litigation Unit in Tallahassee. There he prosecuted numerous cases involving consumer fraud, unfair methods of competition, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, deceptive trade practices, and whistleblowers, recovering millions of dollars from large telecommunications companies, marketing enterprises and corporately owned funeral providers. As an Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Fistos was also involved in drafting consumer legislation.
